In a fresh report, Mahindra has confirmed that it will bring the KUV100 electric version by the end of this year, along with three other models.
As we know, Mahindra is readying up for its upcoming EV Launches in India. As reported earlier, it was supposed to launch around 3-4 Electric cars in India. Now, these reports have been fully confirmed.
Autocar now reports that Mahindra has confirmed four EVs for the Indian market, which includes KUV100 Electric, e-Verito, the electric version of the XUV300 and the Ford Aspire electric, built in partnership with Ford.
Further, the report states that Mahindra will be launching the KUV100 Electric in India by the end of 2019. Also, the manufacturer is launching the E-Verito for regular buyers by the same timeline.
The Mahindra KUV100 Electric was showcased at the Auto Expo and has been under development since then. It might be the first EV from Mahindra for the regular buyers and will go against the likes of Maruti WagonR EV.
The E-KUV is expected to carry a 40 kw electric motor, which will produce nearly 120 Nm of peak torque. The 72V Lithium-ion battery pack from the E-Verito might be seen here, but with slightly better specs.
The top speed achievable on the EV is up to 100 km/hr and is expected to offer a driving range of 120 kms in real-world driving conditions. The car will come with an optional fast charger that will charge the EV up to 80% in just an hour.
With this, there will be some changes to the design as well. Mahindra might add some additional features on board to complete the deal. The suspension will also be tweaked as per the fitting of the electric motor.
Mahindra is planning to launch the XUV300 EV by the end of 2020. It will be placed above KUV100 Electric, offering a better driving range. Lastly, it will also launch the electric Ford Aspire in a joint venture with Ford.
