Following the launch of the automatic transmission on the W8ย and W10 trims of its Refreshed XUV500 SUVย in November last year, Mahindra has now introduced the auto ‘box in the mid-range W6 trim as well. Forย India the XUV500 automatic comes paired to theย existing diesel engine with no changes in specifications. It maybe noted that the launch of the Honda BR-Vย and the Hyundai Creta has put a lot of pressure on Mahindra’s Scorpio and XUV500 SUVs, which could be one of the reasons for the launch of the automatic version in the W6 trim just days after the launch of the BR-V. The XUV500 Automatic variant will be available only in the high-end W8 FWD, W10 FWD and W10 AWD. Prices for the upcoming model start atย INR 15.53 lacs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Here’s the full price list:

Mahindra XUV500 Automaticย Specifications
Save for the new 6-speed automatic transmission, the XUV500 remains largely the same. Power will come from the currentย 2.2-litresย mHawk diesel motor which churns out around 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. The automatic transmission for the new variant is a 6-speed unit sourced fromย Aisin Seiki.ย The autobox is available with 2WD and AWD versions.
