The cases of Mahindra XUV700 owners misusing ADAS features just don’t seem to cease, creating an alarming situation.

In yet another case of the ADAS function of the Mahindra XUV700 being misused, the owner is seen with his feet on the seat while the SUV moves along. For the uninitiated, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) functions are developed to aid the driver in the case of emergencies where the electronics kick in to save the day when the driver is not fast enough to react to unpredictable situations on the road. However, people have taken it to another level where they are performing ‘stunts’ with it. This latest case is another addition to that list.

Mahindra XUV700 Owner Drives with his Feet on the Seat

The post has been shared by xuv_700_official on Instagram. It showcases a video clip where the owner is heard saying that he loves what Mahindra has done. He is driving on a well-marked highway which is ideal for the ADAS functions which rely on the feed from the sensors, radars and cameras. However, he considers it to be a substitute for the driver itself. That completely defeats the purpose of this active safety feature by putting his life, and the lives of others in danger.

He has his feet on the seat as the SUV steers itself according to the road conditions. This puts him in a precarious position where if anything suddenly appears on the highway and the system misses it, he won’t be able to brake timely. The chances of horrendous consequences are much higher when people misuse these features because they don’t leave any room for error. Therefore, such scenarios must always be avoided.

In inference, we would like to advise our readers to always follow traffic regulations and not indulge in such dangerous stunts. ADAS is only meant to aid and assist the driver and not replace him/her. We must strongly encourage everyone around us to not misuse this brilliant and useful function. We have already seen multiple horrific instances of people getting involved in bad situations by misusing ADAS. Let us pledge to be more responsible when it comes to driving safely on roads and following traffic regulations.
