Maruti Fronx Velocity Edition is now available across all 14 variants of the Baleno-based crossover. With this, the limited edition version is now available in three powertrain options – 1.2L Petrol, 1.2L CNG, and 1.0L Turbo-Petrol. It’s noteworthy that the special trim was earlier available only with the turbo-petrol option. For the uninitiated, the Velocity Edition adds a suite of accessories that work in tandem to try and uplift the overall appeal of the vehicle. With this bespoke accessory pack now available on all trims, prices now start at Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Fronx comes with a familiar 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates a healthy 90 PS and 113 Nm of peak power and torque. There are options of choosing between either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The mileage in the manual trim is a healthy 21.79 kmpl, while it is slightly higher in the AMT version at 22.89 kmpl. There is also a CNG trim which uses the same engine but outputs a lower 78 PS and 99 Nm of peak power and torque. The 1.0-litre turbo engine generates a remarkable 100 PS and 147 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with either a 5-speed manual or an automatic transmission. It is for those who are seeking dynamic performance.

Our View
Maruti Fronx has been rather quick to establish itself pretty well. With its sales being second only to the top-selling Tata Punch, the Fronx easily outsells every other crossover in its category. Much of this can be attributed to its stylish exterior, practical cabin, high fuel efficiency and the trust that comes from owning a Maruti Suzuki. Now, with the introduction of the Velocity Edition option on all variants, buyers of this crossover now have a chance to jazz up their rides through the official accessory pack.
