For the month of October, Maruti Vitara Brezza has overtaken Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet in terms of monthly sales. It is again the best selling subcompact SUV.
The sales for the month of October have gradually increased over the last couple of months. Lots of hustle in the sub compact SUV segment is happening as this segment has witnessed the highest growth. For this month, Maruti Vitara Brezza regains its spot as the best selling sub compact SUV, overtaking Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. For the past couple of months, Venue and Sonet were among the top ones.
Maruti Vitara Brezza, for the month of October, has registered sales of 12,087 units. In comparison, Sonet has registered monthly sale of 11,721 units and Hyundai Venue comes at the third position with 8,288 units sold. The monthly sales of Brezza has increased by 32%, when about 9,153 units were sold in September. The Y-o-Y sales have increased by 18%, as last year this time, Brezza Diesel was still in sale.
Sales of Kia Sonet have also increased by 26%, from 9266 units sold in September. When Hyundai Venue was launched, for the first couple of months, it managed to stay again ahead of Maruti Vitara Brezza. However, soon, as the waiting period for Venue reduced, it was back on the second position. The fourth and fifth position is taken up by Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport, respectively.
This month also marks the sales debut of Toyota Urban Cruiser, which has registered a decent 3,000 units. It is based on the Maruti Vitara Brezza itself, with just a couple of cosmetic changes. Unlike the scenario with Glanza and Baleno, the prices of Urban Cruiser and Brezza are at par. Both of them get a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 104 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT.
