MG Motors just reopened the bookings for the Hector two weeks back and now it has already received more than 8000 bookings for the big-size SUV.
The bookings for MG Hector were closed in July itself, due to the increasing demand and waiting period. If you bought the MG Hector in July, the deliveries were likely to happen in the late months of 2019 or early 2020.
To ease up on the waiting period, MG stopped the bookings for Hector across all dealerships. The bookings were now opened on 1st October and the figures have already crossed above 8000 units.
Back in July, the bookings had crossed the 20,000 mark already in just 45 days of its being launched. However, with the reopening, the prices of Hector were also increased. Here is the entire revised price list:

The prices are effective from September 25th and people who have booked after the reopening will be seeing the new prices. However, even with these prices, it is one of the most affordable and longest in its segment.
Variant-wise, the Petrol-AT and the Diesel-MT on the top-spec Smart and Sharp are the best-selling. Since the engines are not BS-6 compliant, the prices of Hector will see an increase again, by a considerable margin.
Hector is available in three engine options – a Petrol, Petrol Smart-Hybrid and Diesel engine. The 1.5 Litre petrol engine is a turbocharged unit, producing 143 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque. The 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine produces 170 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque.
For transmission, you have a DCT unit on the petrol variant and 6-speed manual gearboxes for the petrol smart-hybrid and diesel variants. The smart-hybrid system comes with a small electric motor and helps in saving up to 12% of fuel.
Some of the highlights of MG Hector include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, curtain airbags, 360-degree surround-view camera, 4-way adjustable driver seat, Auto Headlamps, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment with the i-Smart Internet technology, LED projector headlamps and much more.
In other news regarding the Hector, a 6-seater variant of the Hector is also being readied for India. The dimensions will be slightly altered and a third-row will be added. The launch of bigger Hector is speculated for Auto Expo 2020.
