MG Motors India has today announced a very aggressive business strategy for the Indian market. The Indian arm of the famous British automobile manufacturer said that it is going to launch its first product in India by the second quarter of 2019. In addition to this, starting 2019, MG Motors will launch a new product in India every year. So far, there is no clarification on what these products are going to be.
The upgradation of MG Motor’s Halol Plant is complete. Also along with the construction of a new press shop and modification of the assembly line. The automaker has already initiated talks with various suppliers in India to achieve high levels of localization. Another push for India’s “Make In India” initiative.
MG Motor India is also looking forward to ” new energy vehicles” in India. In addition to this, the automaker says that it is looking to establish a diverse working culture in its organization. At the moment, women constitute for 22 percent of the working force in MG Motors India.
In the British market, MG Motors sells a total of three cars. These include the MG3, GS and the ZS. The MG3 is a small hatchback, while the GS and the Zs are compact SUVs. So far, the automaker has not made any revelations about its product line-up in India. However, we believe that the MG3 and the GS could make it to its India portfolio.
MG India India is working extensively towards its R&D in India. It has already started inviting interested dealers to expand its network across India. The dealer roadshows will be conducted in Mumbai on 28th March, in Delhi on 6th April, and in Bengaluru on 16th April.
