Hero MotoCorp unveiled the new 2017 Hero Glamour in Argentina in January 2017. This was Hero MotoCorp’s first ever global product launch. With the launch of the New Glamour (called ‘Ignitor’ in Central & South American markets), the Indian two wheeler manufacturer now has a presence in 35 countries. The new 2017 Hero Glamour is on sale in India for a starting price of Rs. 59,067 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Like the outgoing model, the new Glamour is available in two variants – Carburettor and FI. At the official unveiling of the bike, Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp, said, “The past five years have seen Brand Hero evolve into a major global player. Where mobility solutions are developed at our state of the art R&D facilities in India and distributed globally. And the extent of this growth is today showcased here in Argentina, the first ever global launch of our new bike, while our team races along in the Dakar Rally for the first time”.

The 125 cc single cylinder engine that powers the new Glamour 2017 model is BS IV compliant. It puts out a max power of 11.4 bhp @ 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 11 Nm @ 6500 rpm. In comparison to the older model, the new 2017 Glamour makes 27% more power and 6% more torque. The bike also benefits from Hero’s i3s stop start technology that should help enhance the bike’s mileage.

Hero MotoCorp is claiming fuel efficiency of 60 KMPL for the carburetted variant and 62 KMPL for the FI variant aided by Hero’s i3S start/stop technology. Its new engine will also offer higher refinement than the old model. Also, the BSIV engine will be a lot cleaner than the old motor.
