The New 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift is just a couple of days away from its launch event at theย Auto Expo 2018. The new 2018 Swift could be priced close to the new Dzire. We are expecting a price premium of up to Rs 50,000 over the outgoing version. The base petrol model could cost roughly Rs 4.9 lakh. The fully-loaded Diesel variant will likely cost around Rs 7.3 lakh. Bookings are already open.

As is the case with the current car, the new Swift will find itself positioned below the Baleno hatchback. In India, it will go on sale in both petrol and Diesel engine variants. While the petrol motor displaces 1.2-litres and pumps out a maximum power of 87 PS, the Diesel engine is a 1.3-litre unit that outputs 78 PS. Both the motors come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, both the petrol and Diesel models of the new Swift will even offer a 5-speed AMT.

The new Swift is based on a new platform that is much lighter. It will weigh around 840-900 Kg, which means fuel efficiency will definitely improve. Expect claimed mileage figures of the diesel Swift to hover around the 26-27 KMPL mark.
