Last week, Nissan Kicks was unveiled in India. Ahead of its launch in early 2019, reports say that it will get a 360-degree camera. Here is the video of the camera working in the Kicks.
Nissan Kicks India-spec was recently unveiled. We got a look of its exteriors only, which looks identical to the global-spec Kicks. The launch of the SUV is going to happen in the early months of 2019. While the testing and spying of the Kicks is increasing, reports say that it might get a 360-degree camera. This feature is usually found in high-end cars and not in a car that might be priced between Rs 10-15 Lakhs. If the Kicks gets this feature, it will stand out of the crowd very effectively. As we see the video, the touchscreen display is divided into two parts. The left-hand part gives an aerial view of the car while the right-hand one is the rear parking camera. Along with it, you can see coloured guidelines which adjust according to the movement of the steering wheel. When you pull the gear in reverse, automatically these two views will pop up on the infotainment screen.
You can manually change the view of the camera as well. As shown in the video, with the help of a button, both the sections of the screen can be utilized for either side view or front view. In the video, after the aerial view, you can see the user switching to the left-hand view of the car.
Nissan Kicks will not have the same set of the infotainment system from the video. The Kicks will get a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto, Mirror Link and Apple CarPlay.
The upcoming Nissan Kicks sits above the Terrano. Kicks uses the same platform used for Captur but is lighter than it. Also, it will mostly continue to use the same engine specifications and gearbox options of the Terrano.
So, the Kicks will get a 1.5 Litre petrol engine and a 1.5 Litre diesel setup. The petrol engine puts out 104.5 BHP and 142 Nm of torque. The diesel engine puts out 108 BHP and 240 Nm of torque.
The diesel variant of Kicks will get a 6-speed MT. The petrol one will use a 5-speed MT along with an optional CVT. Yes, there are chances of a CVT gearbox too.
As of now, the feature list of the Nissan Kicks includes LED headlamps, Electric ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, shark fin antenna, floating roof, and front fog lamps. Other feature details will be out as the launch date nears.
The expected pricing of the Kicks is between Rs 11 Lakhs up to Rs 16 Lakhs. At this price, it will rival against the Renault Captur and Hyundai Creta.
