Rat Rod of Old Jeep

Rat Rod of Old Jeep

Here is a unique Rat Rod edition of an old Jeep. I am particularly impressed by the insane modifications on this open SUV. For those unfamiliar, the Rat Rod body type has a long history, dating back decades when cars were crafted from scrap materials, boasting a low-slung stance and minimal modifications. These served as more affordable alternatives to luxury cars in the past. Furthermore, there’s a certain charm in these raw designs, and contemporary aftermarket car shops now produce such models on request. Here are the details of this case.

This is the latest post from simma__sidhu and jas.sdhatt on Instagram. In this video, the owner of this unique lightweight SUV is seen taking the vehicle out of his home. He is barely able to fit the car within the gate. This is due to the broad tyres which extend out of the body of the vehicle. This has even impacted the width of the cabin. What I find the most intriguing is the hood section where the supercharger (perhaps) extends out of the bonnet. This exposed engine is what lends that raw appeal to every rat rod car in the world.

Interestingly, the owner also records the video of him driving it on the road. Needless to say, it attracts a lot of eyeballs. Clearly, this is something you don’t witness every day. In fact, there are only a handful of rat rod models in India. Nevertheless, the aftermarket car modification houses are making such creations quite often these days. People are waking up to the idea of such a unique car. As a result, they head to these car shops to get themselves something truly rare. I must admit, its road presence is unlike any other vehicle out there.

Author’s Note

Oftentimes, some aftermarket car shops offer mechanical changes to the engine as well. In fact, they simply swap the engine to ensure that it is able to pull the car strongly enough. Apart from that, almost all major components need to be updated to carry the added weight and to accommodate such ginormous tyres. But I must caution my readers about the legality of such modifications. Almost all major car modifications are illegal in India. Therefore, you must be aware of such laws which could land you in trouble. If you perform such customizations as a passion project and don’t use the cars on public roads, then it is fine.
