Royal Enfield has announced a price hike over its 350-500cc motorcycle range. The possible reason for the price hike increase in manufacturing costs.

Royal Enfield motorcycles ranging from 350-500cc, except the 650 Twins, have their prices hiked up to Rs 1,500. While the brand has not stated the reason, we expect a rise in the manufacturing costs.

The models affected in this price hike include Bullet, Classic, Thunderbird, Thunderbird X and Himalayan. Since the 650 Twins are recent models, their prices remain unchanged.

The prices of Royal Enfield bikes were just increased due to the inclusion of ABS. Except Bullet 350, all of the bikes in the stable have been updated with ABS.

The 650 Twins made over 600 units for the month of December 2018. Out of this, most of the dealers have confirmed that Interceptor 650 is the better selling of both. The bikes were launched in India in November 2018.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is priced from Rs 2.5 Lakhs up to Rs 2.70 Lakhs. Continental GT 650 goes for Rs 2.65 Lakhs up to Rs 2.85 Lakhs (prices ex-showroom).

For the same period, KTM Duke 390 made barely 100 units and TVS Apache RR 310 around 185 units only. Both the bikes are priced lower than the 650 Twins.
