Bookings for the Skoda Octavia RS 245 will commence on March 1 from 12 pm and it will be first-come first-serve basis. The bookings can only be placed online.
Skoda launched much awaited Octavia RS 245 at the 2020 Auto Expo for a price of Rs 35.99 lakhs. If you had been waiting enthusiastically for this car, then Skoda has announced that bookings for the Octavia RS 245 will begin on March 1, Sunday from 12 pm. Orders can only be placed online via the www.buyskodaonline.co.in portal, with the booking amount set at Rs 1 lakh.
Bookings will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and those wanting to buy one, you better be quick as the car is coming only in limited numbers and is being shipped to India in completely built-up (CBU) form. This allocation is limited to just 200 cars. Deliveries of the Octavia RS 245 will commence in April.
The Skoda Octavia VRS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which now puts out 245hp and 370Nm of torque (15hp and 20Nm more than before). The engine comes paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and the car can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 6.6 seconds. The previous car did it in 6.8 seconds. The top-speed remains identical at 250 kph.
The new car also gets an updated suspension setup and there are visual differences in the form of larger 18-inch alloy wheels and a body kit which gives the VRS a distinctive sporty character. There are also some blacked-out elements on the exteriors, LED headlights, tail-lamps, fog lamps and daytime running lights (DRLs), steel exhaust tips and a boot spoiler.
Another thing to note is that Skoda has brought the current-gen, Euro-spec Octavia VRS. The car has lesser ground clearance than the previous car and it still prioritizes its sporty driving dynamics over anything else. On the inside, it features Alcantara sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, Skoda’s Virtual Cockpit system and nine airbags. Skoda has also confirmed there will be five colour options in total for the Octavia RS 245 – Rallye Green, Race Blue, Corrida Red, Magic Black, and Candy White.
The Octavia Rs 245 will soon get sold out just like its predecessor and so you might want to hurry. The Skoda Octavia VRS has a price that is quite steep at Rs 36 lakhs, but given the fact that its a CBU and more importantly, given its true potential, we believe it will be truly worth every penny you pay for it. Skoda will reveal the next-gen Octavia RS iV at the 2020 Geneva motor show in March. This model will make the shift to a plug-in hybrid powertrain, with a 1.4-litre TSI turbo-petrol being paired with an electric motor.
