In yet another drag race, a Skoda Slavia takes on the Volkswagen Vento. It is essentially a race between a 1.0 TSI and a 1.2 TSI engine.

The Skoda Slavia is available in two variants โ€“ 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol. The former outputs 115 PS-178 Nm, while the latter offers 150 PS-250 Nm. While both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, thereโ€™s a 6-speed torque-converter automatic and a 7-speed DSG option for 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre engine variants, respectively. As you can see in the YouTube video by TORQUED, the Skoda Slavia 1.0 TSI goes against Volkswagen Vento 1.2 TSI. While Slavia is running a 6-speed manual gearbox, the Vento has a DSG. Additionally, the Vento has an ECU remap done. In the first race (without AC and traction control), the Skoda Slavia was a clear winner. The results were different in the second race. However, in the third round, the Skoda Slavia went past the Vento. Overall, both cars performed equally well. It is important to note that such races are conducted by professionals with safety precautions. Trying such stunts could lead to serious consequences.

The Volkswagen sedan is offered in two trims – Highline and Highline Plus. It is powered by a 1-liter turbo-petrol engine that outputs 110PS of power and 175Nm of torque. For transmission, the company has added a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed AT. The stylish comes with a fuel efficiency of 17.69kmpl and 16.35kmpl, respectively. Additional features include up to four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, and LED headlights.
