The Gixxer series is quite popular for its quality and sporty attributes. A number of buyers are from a younger age group. It is Suzuki’s entry-level sports bike and gets a naked design. Design wise, it gets a triangular headlight, bikini fairing and stylishly designed 12-litre fuel tank. The ABS variant will now sit on the top of the Gixxer range, which is priced at Rs 87,250 (ex-showroom). In 2018, The Gixxer had received some feature upgrades and minor cosmetic changes. The ABS variant receives no update barring the security system.
Suzuki Gixxer ABS comes with the same features, as in the latest Gixxer. It features an Always-On Headlamps, Front Disc brakes, fully digital speedometer and naked styling. The top variant gets the front and rear disc brakes both. The fully digital speedometer comes with a tachometer, clock, gear indicator, odometer, fuel gauge indicator and RPM indicator. Other designing elements include handle grips, sporty twin-exhaust, new sporty decals and a well-stitched seat. It also comes with LED tail lights and Projector Headlamps.
The Gixxer is powered by a 154 CC engine that produces 14 BHP worth of power and 14 Nm worth of torque. It comes with Carburetor as well as Fuel Injection systems. It runs on a 5-speed Manual Transmission. The bike comes in three colour options – Candy Sonoma Metallic Red, Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue.
Currently, Suzuki Gixxer ABS falls in a heavy competition league. It competes with the 150 -160 CC bikes, which is the most dominant segment now. Within 150 CC bikes, it competes with Honda CB Unicorn, Bajaj Pulsar 150 and Yamaha FZ-S. In 160 CC bikes, it competes mainly with Honda CB Hornet 160 R and TVS Apache RTR 1604V. However, if we specifically look amongst the naked bikes, it competes with FZ-S, Hornet and Apache. Also, the pricing is almost similar amongst the other naked bikes.
The Gixxer has a sports bike also in its range, known by the Gixxer SF. It gets the same features and same engine, however with a sports bike body. Unlike its naked styling elements, Gixxer SF gets a front windshield and full body decals. Unlike the Gixxer, the SF variant received an ABS variant in August 2017 itself.
