Tata prides itself in manufacturing cars with high safety ratings. While the official safety rating of the Harrier is not available, such cases give us a fair idea of what it could be.

Tata Harrier is a capable and rugged SUV although its official NCAP safety rating is not available. From what we know about Tata products, however, we could be assured that the safety aspect would be taken care of. Tata Harrier Safety

This video shows a case where a metal shed falls on the Tata Harrier in Assam. It happened due to a violent thunderstorm. The shed is made up of strong metallic sheets and heavy iron bars. The visuals show that the bonnet of the mid-size SUV seems to have suffered a bit of damage. Apart from that, the body has absorbed the impact quite well. All the details of this case are not known, but reportedly, no one sustained injuries. This is quite impressive and speaks volumes about the build quality and safety capabilities of the Harrier.

Tata Harrier comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that belts out 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. The transmission duties are carried out by either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. The prices of the Harrier range between Rs 14.52 lakh and Rs 21.81 lakh, ex-showroom. The rivals of the SUV include the likes of MG Hector and Mahindra XUV700.
