Tata Motors have really upped their game when it comes to consumer vehicles. There was a time when Tata Motors most resources went into the betterment of their commercial vehicles while the passenger units kept using the same platform for decades. Tata Motors has finally diverted its resources to the passenger vehicles segment and out come the new vehicles like the Tigor, Zest and Hexa to compete with respective vehicles from other manufacturers. Now, it comes to light that there are more upcoming Tata cars and they would feature the new Tata Impact Design 2.0 theme. The new design language will debut at the Auto Expo 2018 and here’s all you need to know about it.
Tata Impact Design 2.0 – Exterior Elements
Tata Motors showcased the company initial design language, the ‘Impact Design’ which has guided the design of all new Tata products since the Zest in 2014. However, the upcoming Tata Impact Design 2.0 is expected to much bolder, marking a major shift in the automaker’s future products. As per details shared by the automaker, the future products will feature ‘segment-leading wheel sizes’ and ‘enhanced fenders’ to enhance their product’s road presence and sporty appeal. According to Tata officials, the defining factor on the newer models will be a more prominent, three-dimensional, ‘humanity line’ which can be noticed underlining the grille and the headlights. Along with the mentioned updates, the new design language will allow the body surface to be cleaner and uncluttered while a greater attention to detail with a mention of a ‘Tri-Arrow’ pattern. As per reports on the web, Tata will also introduce new body colours chosen specifically to bring out the model’s lines.
Tata Impact Design 2.0 – Interior Elements
Tata’s new design language the Tata Impact Design 2.0 carries revolutionary changes over to the interior as well. The images released reveal a greater focus on practicality and general ambience. Tata officials describe the design philosophy as “clutter-free”, with all the controls and functions oriented towards the driver. Tata is amongst the first auto manufacturers in India to focus on the requirement of in-car connectivity and we expect the company to take things to the next level. The details released did not mention specifics in terms of any upcoming tech. Reports do suggest that Tata’s upcoming vehicles will carry the HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) screens that will be the largest in the segment and will boast a ‘clear and intuitive’ user interface.
The design model suggests the use of premium materials in the upcoming SUV and hatchback and many more post that. Pictures suggest the clever use of colour combinations to enhance the cabin appeal. Tata might even offer customisation options with a host of accessories available for each product. In the images released by Tata, a hint of the upcoming hatchback and a little more of the SUV can be seen. Now we desperately wait for the 2018 Auto Expo when these products are slated to be showcased.
