Xiaomi has launched an electric scooter named Mijia 1S, which is a modern version of hand scooters that we had in our childhood.
Electric scooters are still growing in India, by the day. While we have some trusted companies in the game, there are some chinese cheap products available too. There’s Hero Electric, Ather, Bajaj and even TVS now in the electric scooter business. In China, Xiaomi is one of the most popular companies growing in electric mobility.
A lot of us might have had a hand scooter back in our childhood. Actually, it became more popular after Hrithik Roshan used it in Koi Mil Gaya movie. After that, every kid wanted this scooter. Xiaomi has released a modern version of the same scooter, with a small electric motor. This might be the most handy electric scooter ever.

Priced at CNY 1,999 or Rs 21,700, this Xiaomi electric scooter is called Mijia 1S. It gets a small 500 watt DC hub motor that offers a riding range of 30 kms. The top speed achievable on this is 25 km/hr. Definitely, you will not be taking this on the highway but it fits perfectly for our daily run to the grocery.
This is a foldable electric scooter which you can also carry home with you. The scooter weighs just 12.5 Kgs. With a range of 30 kms and regenerative braking working hard to increase the range, you can easily use it for a week or more. Features onboard include Bluetooth connection, rear disc brake, ABS, side stand, battery status, riding range and lock status.
There’s also three different riding modes including energy saving, normal, and sports. The life of the battery pack is 3,000 hours after which it might start giving some issues. But 3,000 hours is a lot and should at least suffice for a couple of years. While it has been launched in China, you can get it delivered internationally as well.
