1. Hyundai i20 Diesel AT
The new generation Hyundai i20 is expected to be launched towards the second half of this year. The 1.5 Litre diesel engine from Seltos will come paired with a torque converter automatic transmission. The engine, in a detuned state, currently comes on the Venue producing 100 BHP and 240 Nm of peak torque.
2. MG Hector Diesel DCT
Reports suggest that soon, MG is going to offer the Hector diesel with the same DCT gearbox that comes on the petrol variants. The 7-speed DCT is a sporty highlight and Hector might become one of the very few diesel-DCT combinations. It gets an FCA-sourced 2.0 Litre turbo diesel engine that produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque.
3. Honda City Diesel CVT
The new Honda City will be the second car from the manufacturer to offer the diesel automatic combination. The first one was Amaze, which got a CVT gearbox with its 1.5 Litre diesel engine. The same engine and gearbox will also come on Honda City, producing around 100 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque.
4. Mahindra Thar Diesel AT
Mahindra has three new launches lined up till 2021, including the new generation Thar. The new generation Thar will get new petrol and diesel engines, both paired with a manual as well as an automatic gearbox. Mostly, it will be a new 2.0 Litre diesel engine that will produce around 140 BHP and 300 Nm of peak torque.
5. Mahindra XUV500 Diesel AT
XUV500 will also get a new generation upgrade but mostly till early 2021. We have already spied it testing a couple of times on Indian roads. It will also get the same 2.0 Litre diesel engine that comes on Thar and will also come on Scorpio. The gearbox options will also be the same including a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter AT.
