Toyota Fortuner with Water Methanol Injection System

In this post, I shall walk you through a rather unique Toyota Fortuner which has a water methanol injection system. The Fortuner continues to stand out as the leading 7-seat off-road vehicle in the country, often regarded as a symbol of ambition. Its reputation for reliability, impressive off-road capabilities, and durability significantly influence consumers’ choices. However, the prices of the SUV, especially in recent times, have seen a substantial increase. In fact, the top-tier Fortuner model now boasts an ex-showroom price exceeding Rs 50 lakh. Let’s explore the details of this custom version of the SUV.

This video comes from B.CHOWW on YouTube. The host has a modified Fortuner. However, unlike most modifications which concentrate on aesthetics, this model has a stage 2 tuned engine from Code 6. The company has even installed a water methanol injection system to tackle the excess heat produced by the engine due to the tune. There are a few elements which are new in this SUV. This includes a new BMC air filter, modified exhaust system with a downpipe, customized suspension system, tyre press monitoring system and a few updates on the dashboard.

Performance

This SUV makes a lot higher power than the stock model. Resultantly, it generates a lot of heat too. To tackle that issue, the water-methanol mixture is added to the engine which has cooling properties. Thankfully, the driver doesn’t need to tinker with the controls. The car takes care of it. There is a 16-litre water methanol tank placed in the boot which needs to be changed every 350 km. But since the engine is able to stay cooler, the output is enhanced massively. This is clear when the vlogger takes the Fortuner out on a highway. In fact, to contain body roll, the suspension system recognizes lean and speed to adjust the suspension to ensure a flat ride. All in all, this has to be among the best performance enhancements to a Fortuner.

Author’s Note

We commend the meticulous and expert enhancements made to this small hatchback. They demonstrate the modifier’s extensive understanding of internal combustion engines. Furthermore, the use of high-quality components underscores the commitment to maintaining reliability alongside the added performance. While we haven’t had the opportunity to test drive the vehicle, the specifications are undoubtedly appealing. It’s important to note that these modifications are not legally sanctioned in our country. Consequently, such alterations should be strictly confined to educational or passion-driven purposes.
