TVS NTorq Race XP Launched – Gets Segment-First ‘Voice Assistant’

With more than 10hp on tap, the TVS NTorq Race XP becomes the most powerful 125cc automatic scooter in India

TVS Motor Company, the popular South India-based two-wheeler manufacturer, has just announced the launch of the TVS NTorq RaceXP. The new model has gone on sale at Rs 83,275 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Available in a tri-colour paint scheme, the new model comes with race-inspire graphics to add a sporty flavour to the design It even features red-painted rims in line with the scooter’s sporty aspirations.

Among the highlights of the TVS NTorq Race XP is is the new Smartxonnect connectivity feature that offers a first-in-the-segment Voice Assistant. Through this feature, the scooter offers various connectivity options, including ride mode change, MID brightness adjustment, navigation instructions and a ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature. Furthermore, the navigation system even allows you to save some locations through the ‘Save Address’ feature.

If the company claims are to be believed, the TVS NTorq Race XP benefits from improved combustion in order to offer a better power delivery, thereby resulting in stronger engine performance. On the other hand, it even optimises fuel efficiency, especially when running in the Street mode. Specifications, however, remain largely unchanged as the new model carries over the 125cc single-pot motor with performance-focused fuel injection tuning from the regular version. The motor has been retuned to offer a slightly higher max power of 10PS (as compared to 9.38PS of the regular version) and a peak torque of 10.8Nm (as against 10.5 Nm of the standard version). The engine comes mated to a CVT that can propel this scooter to a top speed of 98 kmph. Also, with more than 10PS on the tap, the NTorq 125 Race XP becomes the most powerful model in its class.

Speaking at the launch of the new model, Aniruddha Haldar, Vice President, Marketing, Commuter Motorcycles, Scooters & Corporate Brand said that the new offering is targeted at the ‘GenZ’ customer base – “We are happy to introduce the TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP. It comes armed with the highest power in the segment, first-in-segment dual ride modes, delivering higher top speed and superior acceleration.”
