Here’s an example of used top-spec Honda WRV available at throwaway prices. So, is it actually damaged or missing something?
Honda WRV is a sub-compact crossover battling in the sub-4-metre SUV department. Known for its stylish looks and fuel-efficient engine, WRV gained decent popularity in its initial days. Over time, with growing competition, its sales diminished.
Here we have a second hand example of WRV which is being sold at an unbelievable price. If you normally buy a two year old used WRV, it should cost around Rs 3-4 Lakhs atleast. But this one comes under a Lakh!
So the car in question is Honda WRV VX Petrol manual, the mid-spec variant. It is priced at Rs 9.4 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), up to nearly Rs 11 Lakhs on-road. It does not get all the features, but gets most of the important ones.
This WRV is available at Rs 82,000 in Bangalore. The video was uploaded a couple of months ago, but you can still enquire about it. It is a 2018 model and has a running of 12000 kms. Still not able to believe it? We too can’t.
The owner or the seller, says that everything is in fine condition. It gets 16-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Primacy tyres, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic AC, steering mounted audio controls, electric sunroof and halogen headlamps.
Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and rear defoggers. The seller has described the AC cooling, engine performance, brakes and suspension in working condition.
There are a couple of dents on the front and rear bumper. That’s it. We are not able to check what’s the catch over here. Could be some internal damage or a restored car or without proper documents. We have tried contacting the person and will update the story with details later.
Honda is soon going to upgrade the WRV with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The car in the video gets a 1.2 Litre four-cylinder iVTEC petrol engine. The motor is tuned for 90 BHP and 110 Nm of peak torque. It also gets a 1.5 Litre diesel engine that produces 99 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque. There’s no automatic on offer with WRV.
