Volkswagen Polo facelift will receive subtle change on the exteriors and is expected to go on sale later this year.

The next-gen Polo is likely to be launched next year around Auto Expo 2020 but that doesn’t stop the manufacturer from keeping the Indian market excited. In a recent spy shot, Volkswagen Polo Facelift was spotted on the outskirts of Pune.

The front fascia and rear bumpers have been camouflaged which means there are only subtle exteriors changes. It is expected that the facelifted polo will get a taste of GTI on rear bumpers and front bumpers. It may also get the headlamp design as seen on the GTI. The taillamps are the same as that of the GTI.

Coming to the interiors, we can expect minor changes and an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system. Overall, the interiors will remain the same until the new Polo comes in next year.

We can expect BS-VI compliance engines for the facelifted Polo since some car manufacturers have already started rolling in BS-VI engines. As of now, Volkswagen Polo is powered by 2-engine options and 2 GT options, GT TDI and GT TSI.

The 1.0-litre, 3 cylinder petrol motor churning out 75bhp with 95Nm of torque. Coming to the diesel, we have a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged motor which generates about 90bhp with 230Nm of torque. Both the above engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The GT series hosts one petrol and one diesel engine. The petrol engine making about 103bhp with 175Nm of torque sources its power from a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged GT TSI engine. It is powered by a seven-speed DSG transmission.

On the other hand, the more powerful 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine churns out 110bhp of power with 250Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is on the offer.

Apart from the Polo facelift, Vento could also see similar changes and both will be priced a little higher than their on-going models. The facelifted polo will soon be available later this year.
