The dates for 2020 Auto Expo are out and fresh reports suggest that a lot of automakers have decided to give a miss for the event. Here is a list of the companies.
The coming 2020 Auto Expo, as usual, we are going to see a lot of new cars and bikes being unveiled or launched on the grand stage. Most of the automakers also display their concept vehicles which might or might not come to India.
However, seeing the recent trends in the auto sector, many manufacturers have decided to miss out on the 2020 Auto Expo. That means they would not be showcasing or launching any of their vehicles.
ET Auto reports that more than 12 companies have decided not to participate in the Auto Expo. That includes four-wheeler as well as two-wheeler manufacturers. With that, a lot of them are also yet to clear their participation.
Amongst the big brands, Jaguar Land Rover, Ford, Audi, Jeep, Fiat and Honda Cars India are not going to showcase their cars. Going by the daily news as well, there are no cars coming up from these brands in the near future.
Two-wheeler brands include Yamaha, Royal Enfield and Bajaj Auto confirmed this decision as well. However, reports also suggest that Royal Enfield was going to unveil its entire new lineup at the Expo.
Other brands like Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Toyota, TVS, Nissan and Datsun are yet to take a call on their decision. From TVS, we were expecting an electric scooter and its electric motorcycle, the Zepellin.
Companies like Hyundai, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, MG Motors and KIA will be participating in the event. As for the two-wheeler brands, we might see some new concepts or unveilings from Suzuki, Hero, KTM and Aprilia/Vespa as well.
