Hyundai Tucson vs Creta – Exterior Design
The design of the Hyundai Tucson follows the manufacturer’s Fluidic Design language, as does that of the Creta. However, in comparison, the Creta features straighter lines. The Tucson features a curvier design. Both SUVs bear some resemblance to their elder sibling, the Santa Fe. Up front, both SUVs feature Hyundai’s signature hexagonal grille flanked by sleek headlamps with projector units and LED DRLs. Top end variants of the Tucson will feature LED tail lamps. Overall, the Tucson is bigger and we feel it looks more aggressive than the Hyundai Creta.
Hyundai Tucson vs Creta – Interior Comparison
In typical Hyundai fashion, both cars get a very elegant and functional dashboard layout. Vertical AC vents flank a centrally located touchscreen AVN that also doubles up as the display for the reverse parking camera. The steering wheels of both cars feature silver accents. While the Creta’s cabin utilises a light and dark colour scheme, the Tucson is likely to get an all black cabin. Both SUVs are strict 5 seater. We expect the Tucson to get additional features such as ventilated seats, dual zone climate control, etc.

Both engines will feature both automatic and manual transmission options. The Tucson could even end up sharing engines with the new Elantra sedan. In that case, it will get a smaller 1.6 L Diesel, which is the same one that powers the Verna and Creta. In the case of the Creta, buyers get three engine choices. There is one 1.6 L petrol on offer with automatic and manual transmission options. And two diesel engine options in the form of a 1.4 L and a 1.6 L. While the 1.4 L Creta is only available with a manual transmission, the other one can be had with either a 6-speed auto or a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Hyundai Tucson vs Creta – Verdict
The extra money you shell out for the Tucson gets you a bigger car with more features and more powerful engines. We’re not expecting any overlap in prices, so there shouldn’t be much confusion in the minds of buyers. If you are looking for an SUV within a budget of around 17 lakhs then opting for the top of the line Creta over the base model Tucson might make more sense.
- Design – The design of both SUVs follows Hyundai’s current design language. Both the Creta and Tucson are good looking SUVs in their own right.
- Features – Quite obviously, since the Tucson will be more expensive than the Creta, it will have a longer list of features.
- Specifications – We’re not sure which engines will power the Tucson, but it will definitely get both petrol and diesel engine options.
- Price – Spec for spec, we expect a difference of about 9-10 lakhs between the Creta and the Tucson.
