Ashok Leyland, one of finest commercial vehicle manufacturer in the country actively participated in the 2012 Auto Expo and brought along a number of vehicles. The line-up at the Auto Expo constituted mostly of typical Ashok Leyland vehicles except the STILE multi-functional vehicle/MPV. The car was an altogether different product from the maker and really impressed us. STILE, is a modern Multi-Functional Vehicle (MFV) that specially addresses various applications like people carriers in the urban and rural areas, hotel shuttles, taxi services, ambulances, panel vans, courier services, inter-city and intra-city travel. Design wise the car is quite good and features Nissan Evalia type of body structure with rear sliding doors and a good overall height. Force Traveller Commercial Vehicle Hybrid Version At 2012 Auto Expo

Of all the manufacturers in the commercial vehicle sector, Force Motors emerged as one strong brand. It had been doing well with its commercial car portfolio and with the recent addition in the personal vehicle category, the Force One, the company has taken a giant leap ahead. General Motors India To Introduce CNG & LPG Variants Of New Models

General Motors has finally understood the importance of alternative fuel resources and their potential in the Indian market and is planning to launch CNG and LPG variants of 6 new models. With launches scheduled in the coming months, these 6 models will come in 14 variants including both LPG and CNG ones. Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation(SAIC) will help the brand in introducing these LPG & CNG powered cars in India. GM India, Vice-president, sales and marketing, has stated to Hindustan Times , “The company is keen on introducing LPG and CNG powered engines on their vehicles, apart from petrol and diesel engines” The above statement clearly shows the level of interest the company has in these alternative fuels and justifying it are the current LPG offerings of Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Spark. BS IV emission norms have been taken under implementation from 1st April and with this a list of restrictions have been imposed which is eventually forcing most of the car manufacturers in India to end producing a few of their products not complying with the new emission norms.
