India Bound 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS Unveiled

Recently, Skoda unveiled the 2017 Octavia facelift. Now, the Czech manufacturer has also revealed the sportier vRS edition of the sedan based on the facelift. As part of the 2017 model year updates, the Octavia vRS features new quad headlamp setup, new tail lamp design, new upholstery and more. It also gets a minor increase in power output. The good news is that the Octavia vRS is India bound. Skoda will launch the Octavia vRS in India sometime in the second half of 2017. Prices should start at around Rs. 24 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS India Launch

Skoda has a fair few launches planned for 2017. We expect them to bring the 2017 Octavia first, followed by the RS variant towards the last quarter of next year. Their biggest product launch in 2017 will be the Kodiaq SUV. Other Skoda launches include – Rapid Monte Carlo Edition and Octavia Black Edition.

2017 Skoda Octavia vRS India Price

Quite obviously, the Octavia vRS will be more expensive than the standard variants. Expect the 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS petrol to cost around Rs. 24 lakh while the diesel could cost around Rs. 26 lakh. Currently, in India, the Skoda Octavia is priced between Rs. 15.64 lakh and Rs. 22.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

2017 Skoda Octavia vRS India Specifications

The 2.0 L petrol Octavia vRS witnesses a slight increase in the power output. It now makes 230 hp of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The increase in power has translated to a quicker 0-100 KMPH time of 6.7 seconds. Specifications of the Diesel Octavia vRS remain the same.

Aside from the changes to the power output, the 2017 model sits 15 mm lower than its predecessor. It also boasts 30 mm wider track, which means on track performance could see a slight improvement.
