Our dealership sources reveal that the launch of 2020 Honda City could happen in the last few days of July or mostly early August.

Honda was going to debut the new generation City in the month of March which got delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Our sources now hint us that the prices are likely to be announced in the month of August or the last couple of days of July. The new sedan will be officially revealed before that.

The bookings for the new Honda City are already ongoing for a token amount of Rs 21,000. However, these are unofficial dealer level bookings and Honda is yet to announce it officially. We are yet to get back on the booking numbers till now, however we are expecting the new City to get a major attraction.

The dealership said that the new Honda City will atleast be a Lakh costlier than the outgoing version. Currently, it goes for a starting price of Rs 9.81 Lakhs up to Rs 14.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Seeing the number of changes on the upgraded version, a price hike of Rs 1 Lakh seems worthy enough.

The new generation City gets a refreshed shape with new design language. Although it maintains its original classy and elegant look, there’s something better with the new version. On the outside, you can see it to be slightly shorter in height but sportier. The bonnet line, alloy wheels, front grille, headlamp design and tail lamps have all gone under the knife.

Under the hood, you will get the same 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines, producing slightly more power. The petrol engine might get a mild-hybrid treatment as the global Honda models have started using a small electric motor. The diesel engine might be paired with a CVT gearbox as an option, which many users have been waiting for.

Lastly, talking about the features, the new City will get TPMS, bigger and better touchscreen infotainment system, Alexa-based voice control, digital instrument cluster, LED headlamps, ventilated seats, remote-engine start stop system, six airbags, traction control and much more.
