Ford has discontinued the base-spec variants of Figo, Aspire and Freestyle Diesel making their starting prices higher than earlier.

Ford is one such company which sees an equal amount of demand for diesel and petrol cars. For Freestyle, Ecosport, Figo and Aspire, the scenario is same where they all mostly have equal demand for both the powertrains. For those who want to buy the diesel variants of the Figo family, they have an important news.

Due to low demand, the base spec variants of Ford Figo, Freestyle and Aspire have been discontinued. The base Trend diesel variant is not listed on the website and the starting variant is now Titanium. However, for petrol engine, the base-spec Trend variant is still available at the same price.

Now, you get only two variants with diesel Figo and Aspire, including Titanium and Titanium Blu (Same-spec Titanium + for Aspire). Most of the buyers go for the top-end variants only because they are better loaded with features and also offer six airbags. As for the Freestyle, it will come in three variants, Flair, Titanium and Titanium +.

Ford Figo Diesel now starts at Rs 7.55 Lakhs going up to Rs 8.15 Lakhs, while the Aspire diesel starts at Rs 8.29 Lakhs up to Rs 8.64 Lakhs. Ford Freestyle is priced at par with the Aspire, with its diesel variants starting at Rs 8.14 Lakhs up to Rs 8.79 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom). All three of them come equipped with the same diesel engine and petrol engine.

A 1.5 Litre diesel engine and a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder Dragon petrol powers all the three cars. The petrol engine is capable of producing 96 PS and 119 Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor is tuned to produce 100 PS and 220 Nm of maximum torque. All three of them miss out on an automatic gearbox and come paired with a 5-speed manual stick.
