In a lot of road accidents, two vehicles end up damaging each other. However, sometimes you can witness a Maruti Baleno rescuing a Kia Seltos stuck off-road.
The Maruti Baleno is infamous for getting 0 stars on the Latin NCAP safety tests. However, it comes with a 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 83 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The dual-jet version features the brandโs smart hybrid technology and offers 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. Both engines can be paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. Can it pull a stuck Kia Seltos?

On the other hand, the Kia Seltos diesel comes with a 1.5-liter oil-burner engine that offers 115 PS and 250 Nm. On the other hand, the petrol model packs a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine (115 PS, 144 Nm) or a 1.4-liter Turbo with direct injection (140 PS, 242 Nm). All engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, 7-speed DCT, or a CVT transmission option. Let us take a look at what happens when a Maruti Baleno tries to rescue a Kia Seltos stuck off-road.

As you can see in the video above shared by Arun Panwar on Youtube, the Kia Seltos Diesel variant (manual) got stuck during off-roading. The bumper got stuck in a muddy area and the engine protection cover was bent. Despite trying multiple methods, the driver couldn’t get it out. Even after turning off the traction control, the car stuck until a Maruti Baleno arrived to help. During the first attempt, the Maruti Baleno could not help at all. It got similar results in the second attempt. Finally, a tractor managed to pull the Kia Seltos out, with little external help from the locals.

Currently, the Maruti Baleno has priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The highlights include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, Isofix child seat anchorage points, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, a speed alert system, a seat belt reminder system, automatic climate control, and a height-adjustable driver seat. The five-seater car features a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Marutiโs SmartPlay Studio app, UV cut glass, steering-mounted controls, and an engine start-stop button.
