Low and Bagged Toyota Fortuner

Low and Bagged Toyota Fortuner

One can’t really relate to a Toyota Fortuner being a low-slung vehicle but this video clip defies all conventions.

We bet you haven’t seen a low, bagged version of a Toyota Fortuner. Fret not, we bring you a unique avatar of the popular SUV. Fortuner is always associated with being a rugged off-roading SUV. One takes it to places that ordinary vehicles can’t go. On the contrary, one is generally talking about performance and enthusiast driving when one mentions the low-slung or bagged version of any car. But what happens when these two opposite traits find a home in one vehicle?

The black SUV is seen parked somewhere inside where it just received this distinct modification. There are stylish 6 dual-spoked alloy wheels finished in white/silver complementing the black paint shade well. However, what is strange is the bagged body shape. The image highlights how low the rear section in particular looks. The rear fender is covering the upper part of the tyre completely.

The same situation arises at the front. The wheels are almost entirely covered by the fenders from the top. This makes the mighty SUV look like a long station wagon. We don’t relate this appearance with a Fortuner but it certainly lends a different and interesting perspective on the SUV. In addition to the low body, the tyres are low-profile. That is again a typical trait of a performance car. With large SUVs like the Fortuner, the tyres are always high profile for enhanced ride quality.

With low-profile tyres, the handling and cornering ability of any vehicle is improved because of increased traction and grip. However, there is less rubber on the sidewall of low-profile tyres which makes the undulations and thuds on the road enter the cabin. The cushioning effect is reduced compromising the ride quality. Not to mention, the ground clearance is reduced drastically in this bagged customisation which is a terrible idea in our road conditions. Also, there is the risk of the body brushing against the tyre of the vehicle. Hence, all these aspects must be taken into consideration before deciding to go for such modifications.
