Boy Takes Father to Hospital in Pushcart

We know that there is a lot of development still pending when it comes to our healthcare system and this latest incident is proof of that.

A boy is seen taking his father to the hospital on a pushcart in this saddening video. India is making huge progress in terms of getting developed but there are still many areas in the country where the basic amenities are not all that great. It looks like that was the reason behind this difficult-to-watch video of a distressed mother-son duo taking a man to the hospital after they claim that the ambulance didn’t arrive. Here are the details.

The post has been shared on Twitter by Sadaf Afreen. It shows a little boy, around 6 years of age, pushing a cart with a man on it. As he pushes it from behind, his mother is seen pulling it from the front. The man who is making the video shows the ambulances parked outside the hospital but the family claims that the ambulances were not available. This incident has been reported from the Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh. The mother-son duo pushed the cart for around 3 km to reach the hospital.

Reportedly, the man suffered an injury in his leg which is why he was not able to walk at all. After a formal investigation by the authorities, it was established that there was no call made by the family on 108. This was ascertained after checking the call records. The District Collector, Arun Kumar Parmar issued a statement claiming that the information about calling the ambulance by the family members was unfounded.

He said, “We have checked the call records of the 108 ambulance service and did not find any call made by the man or his family. The family has also said they took the man to the hospital (on the handcart) on their own.” Now, we can’t verify anything one way or the other. But we could just hope that something like this never occurs again and the entire system gets more efficient. What are your thoughts on the boy taking his father to the hospital on a pushcart?
