Nissan has finally revealed the next-generation Nissan Micra 2017. The new Nissan Micra 2017 made its debut at the Paris Motor Show 2016. It’s too early to have an official announcement of its India launch date but our guess is that the new Micra’s India launch will take place in late 2017. Prices of the new Micra could start around INR 6.5 lakhs. Being a larger and more premium car than the current model, the new Micra will rival the likes of Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. If it makes it to India, production of the new Micra in India will take place at the manufacturer’sย Oragadamย facility in Tamil Nadu. India could become an export hub for the new Micra. For now, the car will be made in France. Cars built here will be exported to the Middle East and Africa. The new Micra will get the new CMF platform for most developed markets. However, it will use the current V-platform for emerging markets.

Internationally, the new 2017 Micra will receive a newย 0.9-litre TCe turbocharged petrol engine. It will also get a 1.5 L dieselย engine. Both engines produce a peak power of 90 PS. However, the Micra could retail the current engine options in a highly price sensitive market of India. Chances are slim but we just might end up also getting the new 0.9-litre Turbo-petrol engine to rival the Baleno RS. The 2017 Micra will offer CVT and 5-Speed Manual Transmissions.

While the Europe-spec Micra 2017 model will be underpinned byย the CMF-B platform. The new Micra 2017 looks much like the Nissan Sway concept from theย 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The new Micra has a really modern exterior with some futuristic and really bold features. The car has a low-slung stance and the front fascia features Nissan’s signature bold grille with sleek headlamps with a projector setup. The car has some neatly defined creases and looks really sporty when compared to the current Micra. We are happy to note that the new Micra is much more stylish than the current model. The black C-Pillar gives it a floating roof effect and also houses the rear door handles.
The new Nissan Micra could look the sportiest in its segment. Also, the new design language will ensure the Micra 2017 looks as premium as at least an Elite i20. Bits like LED DRLs, bold creases and a swooping roofline should help.

The Micra’s interior, much like the exterior, features a really modern design and a handful of premium features. The Euro-spec 2017 Nissan Micra seen in images here gets a dual tone dashboard with leather trim. A touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage below the sleek AC vents. There’s a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel, which also features audio and telephone functions. All in all, the new Micra does away with the old model’s round design theme and features a more sporty cabin.ย
