It’s finally no secret that the much anticipated TVS Apache 300cc model has been christened as the TVS Apache RR 310S. The upcoming full-fairing motorcycle will soon become the fastest, the costliest and the most fun bike from TVS stables. The RR 310S made its public debut at the Auto Expo 2016 as the Akula 310 concept. Now, it seems like the production-spec model will finally make an appearance at the Auto Expo 2018. All this means that the launch of the new model Apache RR 310 is merely half-a-year away from us. Prices could start around the Rs 1.5 Lakh mark. The upcoming Apache 300cc model is currently busy road testing. Read on for all the available information on arguably the most awaited TVS motorcycle.

In the ever expanding Indian bike market, the Apache RR 310S will be the first product jointly developed by BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company. It will become the most expensive TVS bike ever. It’s expected that this 300cc Apache motorcycle will be sold alongside the BMW G310R and G310 GS. Both of these models are produced by TVS Motor co. at its Hosur manufacturing facility. While the specifications are yet to be revealed, it’s for sure that the full-fairing Apache will get aย 313cc, single-cylinder engine. While this engine comes from the BMW G310R, it will be tweaked for application in the Apache RR310S. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission that will send power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. Other highlights of the specifications table includes upside-down front forks, rear monoshock, radicaly-mounted front caliper and ABS.

The bike takes many design cues from the Akula concept. As can be made out from the images we’ve seen, the front fascia of the upcoming 300cc bike will look really aggressive and sporty. This will be due to a sleek fairing and twin LED headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). The headlamps will hold HID projector setups. In a manner typical of most race-ready machines, the Apache RR310S will get a tall windshield. Other highlights hinting at this bike’s sporting credentials include a set of USD front forks and stylish alloy wheels. The bike will get LED indicators and LED taillight. It will share its exhaust with the BMW G310S. The sticky tyres come from Michelin. The new TVS Apache RR 310S will getย dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), most likely as an option.

There are many other bits that pronounce this bike’s racing credentials. For instance, the adjustable clip-on handlebars, the rear-set footpegs and the split-seat setup are a dead giveaway of this bike’s high performance credentials. There’s simply no doubt, the Apache RR 310S is the meanest and the sportiest looking Apache model yet. We saw the Akula concept boasting bits like a matte black paint and race-spec exhaust. While the Apache 300cc model is likely to miss out on these, it will still have theย aluminium trellis sub-frame.

TVS Apache RR 310S Launch Date

Launch Date February, 2018

This bike made its debut as the Akula 310 concept at the last Delhi motor show. The Akula pays tribute to the brand’s rather rich racing pedigree. The production-spec bike is likely to launch at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018. It will go on sale under the Apache RR 310S moniker. The new 300cc Apache will become the most expensive and also the fastest production-spec TVS bike ever. TVS is yet to reveal the official launch date. However, you can safely watch this space for more updates on the launch date of the Apache RR 310S.

TVS Apache RR 310S Priceย in India

Non-ABS Rsย 1.72 Lakh
ABS Rs 1.90 Lakh

The upcoming motorcycle in the Apache range will be the most expensive TVS bike ever. It will mark the manufacturer’s entry into the 300cc club. The RR 310S will be the fastest and the most performance-oriented TVS ever. It will be much more powerful and racier than the RTR 200 4V. Hence, it will command a definite price premium over the 200cc sibling. Prices of the new TVS Apache RR 310S could start at roughly Rs 1.72 lakh. The fully-loaded ABS model could cost Rs 1.90 Lakh.

The 2018 TVS Apache RR 310S was spied testing by one of our dear readers recently. As you can see in these spy images of the bike, it looks a lot like the Akula 310 concept.ย However, it doesn’t get the carbon-fibre body panels seen on the show bike.

TVS Apache RR 310S Specifications

Specifications TVS Apache RR 310S
Engine Single-cylinder, Fuel-Injected 313cc
Max. Power 35 PS
Peak Torque 28 Nm
Transmission 6-Speed Manual

The new Apache RR 310S will get the same 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that powers the BMW G310R. For the 300cc Apache, however, this engine will be re-tuned to suit the bike’s racing pedigree. The upcoming TVS Apache model will also share this engine with the G310 GS adventure motorcycle from BMW Motorrad. This engine is a modern unit that is capable of outputtingย a max. power of 35 PS at 9,500 RPM and a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 RPM. The Apache RR310S will come with a 6-speed Manual Transmission that will send power to the rear wheels via a chain drive.

TVS Apache RR 310S Top Speed

Top Speed 150 KMPH

The new 2018 TVS Apache RR310S could have a true top speed of around 150 KMPH. Thanks to a large windshield and a full fairing, the rider will be protected from wind blasts at such high speeds. Also, a true top speed of more than 150 KMPH should make this bike one of the fastest in its price bracket.

TVS Apache RR 310Sย Mileage

Highway 32 KMPL
City 26 KMPL

Our guess is that the bike’s engine, thanks to modern technologies, will offer at least 26 KMPL. Max. mileage could be roughly 32 KMPL. Let’s nor forget that most buyers in this segment prefer a high performance over a high fuel mileage. Still, the Apache 310S should offer a good mix of fuel efficiency and performance.

TVS Apache RR 310S Design Review

As you must have seen in the few spy images we have above, the new Apache RR 310S misses out on carbon fibre bodywork that we saw on the Akula concept. Still, the new TVS bike looks really sporty. This is majorly due to theย full fairing, a twin headlamps setup, adjustable clip-on handlebar and the split seats. ย The RR 310S Apache should even have a set of daytime running lamps (DRLs).

TVS Apache RR 310S Images - Akula Concept

The Apache RR310S gets a huge front-fairing, a huge windshield and a split headlamp setup. The headlamps hold HID projector setups, which further enhance the premiumness quotient of this bike. The LED DRLs further lend that touch of stylishness. This motorcycle gets aย cast alloy swingarm to improve handling. At the same time, we’re hoping the suspension to offer decent ride quality over most surfaces. The USD forks come painted in golden, which further make the bike look sportier. The bike’s โ€˜devilโ€™s hornโ€™ taillamp catches attention at the rear. The LED taillamp, along with the LED indicators, give a very premium look to the bike. The Apache RR 310’s end-can comes from the BMW G310R. The raised clip-ons, along with the rear-set footpegs and split seats, make the bike more performance-focused. The bike will get sticky tyres from Michelin. Other highlights of the bike include split seats, a sculpted fuel tank, a digital speedo console and disc brakes at both the ends.

Some changes apart, the Apache 310cc will definitely possess the racy look of the Akula concept. As seen in the images, the upcoming TVS motorcycle looks sporty and very stylish. The RR 310S will look every bit a grown up Apache RTR 180!
