Tata Altroz interiors, featuring an all-black colour scheme, were seen with some segment first features at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

The Tata Altroz hatchback is all set to launch in India later this year. It will hold the baton for the homegrown automaker in the premium hatchback segment in India. Its main competition will include the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 along with the Honda Jazz. The Altroz is Tata Motors first vehicle to be based on its new Alpha architecture. And it is the second vehicle to get its IMPACT 2.0 design language.

Tata Motors made the global debut of the Altroz at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The Showcar at the event gave us quite a good account of what the final production iteration will look like. For starters, the exterior of this hatchback is quite radical. It resembles the 45X concept on which the Altroz is based on. There are several bits that look quite interesting. And several bits which might not appeal to a few.

According to recent media reports, the Tata Altroz is going to get three engines in its line-up. These will account for two petrol and one diesel unit. In the petrol guise, the base variants are going to get Tiago’s 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder unit. This engine is good for 84 BHP of power and 99 Nm of peak torque. Higher spec petrol derivative will get the Nexon’s 1.2-litre, turbocharged unit. This engine will be detuned for 101 BHP of power along with 140 Nm of peak torque. So far there have been no specific details regarding the diesel engine of the Tata Altroz.

Being a premium hatchback, the Tata Altroz interiors seems to offer the right recipe. The show-car at the Geneva Motor Show has an all-black colour scheme for the cabin. The India-spec version could get a dual-tone colour scheme. This will help in increasing the overall sense of space inside the cabin and it will not feel cramped.

In terms of features, the Tata Altroz interiors packs in a whole array of kit. It comes with a analogue-digital instrument cluster. Other features include an 7-inch, floating touchscreen infotainment system, a JBL tuned sound system, ambient lighting, rear air-con vents, rear seat armrest to name a few. Though the cabin does not outperform the competion in terms of its outright space, it does feel unique and brings a breath of fresh air.
