A man has developed a ‘desi jugaad’ to address the issue of rural mobility using an eco-friendly and sustainable solution. Anand Mahindra Lauds The Man Who Built Electric Bicycle

Anand has shared the video of the man on his official Twitter handle. The video captures the man on the bicycle that he has created himself. It’s a long unit comprised of an iron rod on which seats are installed in a bare minimum configuration. The battery system is located at the rear end. As per the information by the developer, it can travel around 150 km on a single charge. More importantly, it takes around Rs 10 to charge it fully. This costs around Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000.

This is a prime example of how something can be developed that strikes a perfect balance between being affordable and practical solving a real issue.
