An Aussie car expert takes the Mahindra Thar on a proper off-roading track to test its capabilities. In recent times, many Australian car reviewers have been invited to Mahindra’s SUV Proving Track (MSTP) in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu. Since its debut, the Thar has consistently maintained its position as the country’s most successful off-roader. With the latest iteration, the Indian automotive giant is facing challenges in meeting the surging demand. In specific cities, waiting periods for particular models stretch well beyond a year, highlighting the remarkable demand for this SUV. Let’s explore the details of this latest review.
Aussies Review Mahindra Thar on Off-Roading Track
The video comes from CarExpert on YouTube. It captures a rather interesting expedition. The host is taking the Thar through some pretty insane and hardcore off-roading surfaces. What is making things worse is the torrential rains on the day of the shoot. Nevertheless, the expert takes the SUV across various challenges lineup for it. This includes inclination of steep slopes, driving the Thar through stairs to test the wheel articulation, driving it over stones to test its ground clearance, taking it down a slope to see how well the engine braking works and more. All in all, the Aussie reviewer is thoroughly impressed by the capabilities of the Thar.
The man also mentions that it could make it to the Australian market. However, as per the current situation, Mahindra can’t sell the Thar in Australia due to its close resemblance to the Jeep Wrangler. That is the reason why you will see the Scorpio N, Scorpio Getaway and the XUV700 Down Under, but not the Thar. Still, there is one possibility. Mahindra recently showcased its Thar.e Concept. That electric version of the Thar might be a long time away. But once it launches, that could make it to the Australian shores. Nevertheless, the excitement the car expert displays is evident.
