BS6 Datsun Go Is Costlier Than WagonR And Santro But Cheaper Than Tiago

Datsun has announced the prices of BS6 Go, which sees a considerable price hike. The hatch is now priced from Rs 3.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Datsun has finally launched the BS6 compliant Go and GO+, with a considerable price hike. While there were many speculations that Datsun, as a brand, might be discontinued in India. However, a couple of weeks earlier the manufacturer hinted that all three of its cars will survive the emission norms as well.

These are the variant wise prices of the BS6 Datsun Go. The base variant is now costlier by Rs 22,000 and the CVT variants, by Rs 28,000. At its range topping price of Rs 6.45 Lakhs, the GO is now costlier than the likes of Maruti WagonR and Hyundai Santro. It is still a bit cheaper than the BS6 Tata Tiago.

The price range of WagonR starts at Rs 4.45 Lakhs going up to Rs 5.95 Lakhs. As for the Santro, it is priced from Rs 4.57 Lakhs up to Rs 6.20 Lakhs. Lastly, the Tiago comes in the price range of Rs 4.60 Lakhs to Rs 6.60 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom). For rivals like S-Presso and Kwid, Datsun has the Redi-GO available.

BS6 Datsun GO continues with the same specifications. It gets a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 77 PS and 104 Nm of peak torque. The manual variants are slightly more powerful by 9 PS now. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed MT and a first-in-segment CVT gearbox. The CVT gearbox is usually smoother and more fuel-efficient than other automatic gearboxes.

BS6 Datsun GO offers a claimed mileage of 19.02 kmpl for the manual variants and 19.59 kmpl for the CVT variants. You can see the company claims that CVT will offer more slightly more mileage. We have tested out the Datsun GO CVT and you can find out the video towards the end of the article.

Features onboard include ESP, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse parking sensors, electrically adjustable ORVMs, Voice Recognition and Rear Wiper/Washer. It misses out on some important features like a rear parking camera, electric folding ORVMs and such.
