Skoda has now launched the BS6 Rapid TSI with prices starting at Rs 7.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It is the cheapest sedan you can buy now.
With the BS6 norms coming in form, Skoda discontinued the Rapid with its 1.6 Litre MPI engine and the 1.5 Litre diesel engine. Now, the manufacturer has launched the BS6 Rapid with a completely new engine that is standard among all variants. It shares the engine with BS6 Volkswagen Polo and Vento.
The prices of BS6 Skoda Rapid starts at Rs 7.49 Lakhs going up to Rs 11.79 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It will continue with the same variants available on the BS4 version. Here are the detailed variants wise prices of the sedan:

The 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol TSI engine produces 110 PS and 175 Nm of peak torque. The turbocharged engine has been designed in a way to offer maximum torque at the low-range RPM between 1500-1750 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and will offer a mileage of 18.97 kmpl. There’s no automatic gearbox offered now, but will come later.
Features onboard include 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, electric ORVMs, dark-green classes with UV cut glass, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic AC, steering wheel mounted audio controls and much more. For safety, it will offer dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control and Hill Hold Control.

The bookings for BS6 Skoda Rapid have already commenced across dealerships as well as on their official website. Rapid is now the cheapest sedan among its rivals including Volkswagen Vento (8.86 to 13.29 Lakhs), Honda City (9.91 to 14.31 Lakhs), Maruti Ciaz (8.32 to 11.10 Lakhs), Hyundai Verna (9.31 Lakhs to 15.10 Lakhs) and Toyota Yaris (8.76 to 14.31 Lakhs). The prices of Rapid are somewhat in competition with compact sedans like Honda Amaze, Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Aura, as well.
