First European to Test Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Delhi-Mumbai expressway is in the news for various reasons as the first phase of the highway has become operational.

The first European female traveller to test the Delhi-Mumbai expressway has shared her experience in a video. This expressway connects the two largest and most significant cities of India. While Delhi is the capital of India, Mumbai is widely regarded as the financial capital. Hence, the significance of connecting these two is quite understandable. The 1,350 km long 8-lane expressway is still under construction in most parts but the initial phase is complete. The ambitious project might see fruition by the end of 2024.

The first European female traveller to test the Delhi-Mumbai expressway is Karolina Goswami. She is a popular YouTuber who has been married to an Indian and creates content around India and its relevance in the modern world. Originally from Europe, she has travelled extensively on the roads of Europe, the USA and India. This puts her in an ideal spot to compare the quality of construction of the highways in all these parts of the world.

She mentions that there is a popular water glass test that many Indians use to test the ride quality of a car due to the roads. It is also done for high-speed trains to test the comfort. She does the same test on the roads of Europe and shares the results in this video. It is clear that the water-filled glass in the car on the Indian road appears to be more stable compared to the water-filled glass on a good European road. She is thoroughly impressed by the FASTags for toll collection and open play area for kids on the side of the highways.

On the other hand, she thinks that the driving discipline, the quality of toilets and the overall attention to detail can still be improved on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway. But since this is still the early days for the highway, we are sure that these things will be improved with time. She was also pretty impressed by the speed of construction in India. We shall keep an eye out for further development in this field.
