Hero Xtreme 200S is the most affordable 200cc fully faired motorcycle, priced under a Lakh. It is built on the platform of Xtreme 200R and uses the same engine as well.

Hero Motocorp has taken a jump in the 200cc entry-level premium motorcycle segment with three new motorcycles. As we know, Xtreme 200S, Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T have been launched in India.

Xpulse 200 is an adventure motorcycle and the 200T is a road-biased tourer. Xtreme 200S is fully faired motorcycle. All the three are based on the same chassis and use the same 200cc engine.

Based on our dealership sources, we can say that Xtreme 200S is more popular than the Xpulse Twins. Here are five things to know about the most affordable 200cc fully faired motorcycle.

1. Price And Competition

The Xtreme 200S is priced at Rs 98,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it the most affordable in its segment. It is costlier than the Xtreme 200R by Rs 8,000. It competes with the likes of Suzuki Gixxer SF, Bajaj Pulsar 220F and Yamaha Fazer in this price range.

2. Engine Specs And Performance

It uses a 199.5cc air-cooled engine, that produces 18.1 BHP and 17.1 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to a 5-speed gearbox. We rode the bike at the Buddh International Circuit and the performance was pretty decent. The acceleration was not that exciting, but it would make a good city commuter with often speed bursts.

3. Suspension And Braking

For suspension, it uses 37mm DIA telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step adjustable pre-load monoshock at the back. The tuning of the suspension is balanced – neither too stiff nor too soft.

For braking, it uses a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the back, with single-channel ABS. The bite of the brakes is good, but the lack of the rear ABS, locks up the tire very easily.

4. Features

Features onboard include a Bluetooth-connected fully digital speedometer, turn-by-turn navigation, ABS, LED headlamps, Anti-Split seats, Gear Indicator and styling pillion grab rails.
