Honda Cars India will soon launch the much awaited WRV crossover. The new Honda WRV is basically a pseudo-crossover that’s based on the highly successful Jazz/Fit hatchback. The new WRV crossover will sit between the Jazz and the BRV in Honda’s product portfolio. The WRV is already on sale in Brazil and will launch in India on March-16. On the outside, the WRV looks like a Jazz on steroids. While it shares in plenty with its donor hatchback, there’s enough to give the WRV its own distinct identity. The interior, however, is much like that of the Jazz. The features list of the fully loaded Honda WRV includes- touchscreen infotainment, Auto AC, Rear AC Vents, Cruise Control and Sunroof.

The WRV looks like a muscular, more aggressive brother of the Jazz. It definitely looks more rugged and has a more imposing stance. While many panels come from the Jazz, the WRV gets a new set of bumpers, new front grille, new headlamps, new taillights, a scuff plate and plastic body cladding. Unlike the Volkswagen Cross Polo, the new Honda WRV is more than just a mere cosmetic update. It gets a higher ground clearance and even a longer wheelbase.

At the front, the WRV has a slight resemblance to the HRV. The front-end looks aggressive and impart a touch of ruggedness to the car. The new grille and the refreshed bumper together make the car look really handosme. The body cladding and the new design alloys are highlights of the Honda WRV’s side profile. Honda WRV Review – Interior Design

On the inside, the new Honda WRV looks almost the same as the Jazz. You get the same dashboard, which boasts clean surfaces and plenty of cubby holes. Also, you get a similarly spacious cabin. The extended wheelbase further frees up some space inside. Even most other bits, like the steering wheel, instrument cluster, AC controls, etc. come from the Jazz.

Honda WRV Engine & Transmission

The Honda WRV shares its engines with the Jazz. This means that while the WRV gets a 1.5-litre i-VTEC FlexOne engine in Brazil, it gets a 1.2-litre Petrol and a 1.5-litre Diesel engine in India. Also, the Indian model misses out on a CVT option for the Petrol variant. The Brazil spec WRV 1.5 Petrol offers 118 PS and 150 Nm. The India-spec WRV petrol outputs 90 PS and 110 Nm. The Diesel engine, on the other hand, offers 100 PS and 200 Nm. The Petrol engine gets a 5 Speed Manual Transmission, while the Diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual.
