Hyundai Grand i10 was one of the aesthetically sportiest hatchbacks launched back in its time. It currently falls in the compact premium hatchback segment and is one of the top-selling cars among that. As we all know that it is Hyundai, the hatchback gets many premium features when we compare it with its competitors. The biggest competition comes from the latest Maruti Suzuki Swift, which also got a generation update recently. Now, recent scoop says that the Hyundai Grand i10 Hatchback next-generation has been spotted testing in Korea. This means, that probably by next year, we can see a generation update for the Grand i10. Check out what we can expect from this next-generation i10.
The spy stories suggest that the next generation update gets a longer wheelbase than the current version. We do not know if the long wheelbase version will be coming to India. Reports say that the 2019 version would continue to be called as ‘Grand i10’.
Reports suggest that the Hyundai Grand i10 Hatchback next-generation will borrow heavily from the upcoming Hyundai Elantra facelift, which might launch globally in 2019. In the spied photos, wider headlights and taillights can be seen. It can receive some more cosmetic upgrades, but already Grand i10 is one of the most feature-packed cars in its segment.
Mechanically, it might continue with its CRDi and VTVT Kappa petrol engines. The current i10 gets a 1.2 Litre Kappa VTVT petrol engine and a 1.2 Litre U2 CRDi diesel engine. The petrol engine churns out 83 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces 75 BHP of power and 190 Nm of torque. For the transmission duties, there is a 5-speed petrol engine and a 4-speed Auto just for petrol variants.
Features on the current Grand i10 include LED DRLs, Fabric upholstery, Key-Less entry, push-button start/stop, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Steering mounted audio controls, Automatic Temperature Control, Tilt Steering and more. For safety features, it gets Dual Airbags, Rear Parking Sensors with Camera and ABS.
