Jaguar XE Facelift Launched In India – What’s New?

Facelift Jaguar XE gets refreshed styling, minor cosmetic tweaks, new features and BS-6 compliant petrol and diesel engines.

Jaguar has updated its most affordable model in India, the XE sedan with a minor facelift. The sedan is now priced starting off at Rs 44.98 Lakhs up to Rs 46.32 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It comes in four variants with BS-6 petrol and diesel engines.

Jaguar XE facelift mainly gets some cosmetic tweaks like a sharper bumper, refreshed LED headlamps, new alloy wheels, reworked rear bumper and new LED taillights as well. It is mainly styled to make it look inspired by the bigger Jaguar models.

Inside the cabin, there are very few changes like better quality plastics, a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a new separate touchscreen unit for adjusting the seats and Air Conditioner.

Under the hood, the Jaguar XE Facelift now gets BS-6 petrol as well as diesel engines. It gets a 2.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 250 BHP and 365 Nm of peak torque. The 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine produces 180 BHP and 430 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to an end 8-speed torque converter.

In terms of variants, the Jaguar XE Facelift now comes in only two variants – S and SE. They replace the existing Pure, Prestige and Portfolio variants. S variant is priced at Rs 44.98 Lakhs and the SE variant goes for Rs 46.32 Lakhs, the same price for both the engines.

Features onboard include a new 25.4 cm (10) ‘Touch Pro’ infotainment screen with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay, Smart Settings with AI for climate, seat and audio settings, Lane Keep Assist, Park Assist, Wireless Device Charging, ‘Remote with InControl Remote App’ allows you to check vehicle status like fuel level, window open etc. via phone and much more.

After seeing a price hike of nearly Rs 4.4 Lakhs, the Jaguar XE facelift continues to rival the likes of BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4. All of these models have their base variants cheaper than the JAG. The top-end variant of Audi A4 is comparatively cheaper than the XE Facelift.
