The latest news about the upcoming Mahindra Marazzo MPV is that it is going to launch on 3rd September. Also, various Mahindra dealerships have unofficially started the booking process. Currently, they are accepting booking amounts of up to Rs 10,000. We are expecting the prices to be around Rs 12-18 Lakhs (ex-showroom), but the exact prices will be out on the launch date itself. THe Marazzo MPV will come with 7-seater and 8-seater configurations. The Shark inspired car will come with premium features, mostly similar to the XUV 500. Once it is launched, it will take on Tata Hexa and Innova Crysta, which are the only MPVs in its range. The Ertiga too is an MPV but is much lower priced than these MPVs.
The Mahindra Marazzo MPV will come with a 1.5 Litre Petrol engine and a 1.6 Litre MFalcon Diesel engine. The petrol engine churns out 120 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces 125 BHP of power and 305 Nm of torque. The petrol variant will come with a 6-speed manual transmission and the diesel engine will come with a 6-speed manual transmission along with an optional 6-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel engine is expected to give mileage figures between 18 kmpl to 20 kmpl. The petrol engine is expected to give mileage figures of around 14-15 kmpl. This MPV is built on a monocoque chassis, which means that the body and chassis are integrated together for better stiffness and lesser weight.
Marazzo MPV will get a bold stance, as we have seen in various spy photos. Subtle elements similar to Xylo and Scorpio can be noticed. Moreover, it will be a premium offering and so we expect it to launch with some rich colour options. Mahindra recently released photos of the interior and it gets a black-beige colour combination on the dashboard. It will get a clean instrument cluster, unlike the cluttered ones on other Mahindra SUVs.
Features on board the Marazzo MPV will include Projector Headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights, LED Tail-lamps, Touchscreen Infotainment System, roof-mounted rear air-con vents, Multifunctional Steering Wheel, Adjustable Steering Wheel and Adjustable Driver’s Seat. We can expect some premium features onboard too.
For safety features, we can expect Dual Airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) as standard fitments. The high-end variants could get up to 6-airbags. Also, the Monocoque chassis helps the MPV to stay strong and stiff.
Lastly, the MPV will compete with the likes of Tata Hexa and Toyota Innova Crysta. Currently, both have a good sale in the market. Leaving these two, there is no other MPV in the range. The Lodgy and Ertiga are priced under Rs 12 Lakhs, which might be the starting price of Marazzo.
