Maruti Suzuki plans to boost up the sales of their 1.3L diesel engine by offering an extended warranty as a party pack to the new customers.
Marui Suzuki now offers a total of 60 months or 1,00,000 kms warranty on their 1.3L diesel engine which comes on Swift, Dzire, S Cross and Brezza. The scheme is available for new buyers and can be availed at any dealerships without any extra cost.
Earlier Maruti offered a total of 2 years/40000 km warranty on the 1.3L diesel engine but just ahead of BS6 emission norms, the manufacturers are offering an extended warranty at no extra cost.
Maruti Suzuki plans to discontinue their diesel engines from their lineup post BS6 and will only rely on the sales of petrol cars. That said, the company is also planning to bring a petrol model to their much popular compact SUV, Vitara Vrezza by next year. However, Maruti may bring the diesel engine back if only there are sufficient demands but that will only see the higher capacity motor which is the inhouse 1.5L.
Mr Shahank Srivastava, Executive Director, (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Dzire, S-Cross, Swift and Vitara Brezza are our flagship products, which played a pivotal role in transforming not just Maruti Suzuki but the Indian automotive industry itself. These marquee brands are loved for their performance by millions of customers and critics alike. These pioneering brands will continue to play a prominent role in our future product portfolio.”
Furthermore, “As a small gesture of our gratitude to the admirers and prospective buyers, we are offering a free 5-year, 1-lakh km warranty on the entire diesel line up of these models to ensure a worry free ownership experience”.
With the introduction of 5 years,/ 1,00,000 km warranty covers a host of parts and their replacements. These include the high pressure pump, compressor, Electronic Control Mode (ECM), turbocharger assembly, critical engine and transmission parts, among others. The steering assembly and suspension struts are also covered as part of the plan.
This step is taken to boost up the sales of their particular car models as not a single diesel vehicle from the manufacturer will be sold post April 2020. Other cars like Ertiga and Ciaz were also offered with this particular 1.3L DDiS diesel engine but now has been discontinued and sports only a 1.5L oil burner and a 1.5L petrol engine.
