The Swift has always been a popular nameplate and the next generation model is likely to help Maruti Suzuki further consolidate its position in the B2 segment. Maruti Swift Sport India Launch Date

Maruti will launch the new model Dzire by mid-2017. Subsequently, it will launch the new 2017 Maruti Swift around next year’s festive season. The companyย hasn’t yet revealed its Maruti Swift Sport India launch plans. However, it is very likely that this car will be launched in mid-2018. Production of the Swift Sport will take place in India. Hence, MSIL shouldn’t have issues with pricing this car ultra competitively. Currently, the Swift Sport is available with a 1.6-litre Naturally Aspirated petrol engine. However, the next generation model will get a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This engine will churn out 140 BHP – 220 Nm. Kerb weight is likely to be under 1000 KGs. The new Swift Sport is expected to have a 0-100 KMPH timing of less than 9 seconds. In India, however, the Swift Sport is likely to borrow its engine from the Baleno RS. This 1.0-litre Turbocharged petrol engine outputs 110 BHP – 170 Nm. The engine will come mated to a 6-Speed Manual Transmission. The Swift Sport for India could also get a slightly stiffer suspension for better road handling characteristics.
Maruti Swift Sport Exterior Design
The Swift Sport for India will be based on the 2017 model. The 2017 model Swift looks fresh whilst carrying an evolved version of the current Swift’s design. The front-end carries a gaping radiator grille and swept-back headlamps. These two design elements alone make the front look really sporty. In the side profile, the new Swift looks much like the outgoing model. It gets black-painted pillars and a steeply raking roofline. However, it also gets a floating roof effect due to black masking on the C pillar. The rear doors have the door handles positioned near the rear windows. The rear now looks even sportier due to LED-effect taillights and a roof spoiler. All of this makes the 2017 Swift a really attractive offering.
Exclusive to the Swift Sport will be large 17-inch alloys, side skirts, bumper splitters, dual exhaust pipes and a roof spoiler.
Maruti Swift Sport Interiorย Design
The interior of the Maruti Swift Sport look really trendy. The rectangular aircon vents have been replaced by round ones and the instrument cluster gets a twin pod layout. There’s also a new flat bottom steering wheel. The new Swift will also get a touchscreen infotainment system and color-coordinated dashboard trim. The cabin will have a black color theme.
