The Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition is priced at a premium of Rs 6 lakh over the standard car and for that, it gets an exclusive paint shade, some new cosmetic features inside out and some more equipment as standard over the regular Convertible.
Mini has launched a new limited-run Convertible Sidewalk Edition in India for a price of Rs 44.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Only 15 units of this limited-run Mini will be brought to India, so you better hurry if you want to get your hands on one. This limited edition Mini is only available for booking on the company’s online portal. It differentiates itself from the rest of the Mini Convertible range with some unique cosmetic upgrades both on the outside and inside.
The Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition comes painted in an exclusive Deep Laguna exterior paint shade and the fabric soft top also features an unique pattern when viewed from the top. The Sidewalk Edition also gets model specific racing stripes on the bonnet of the car and Sidewalk Edition graphics over the side fenders and also on the door sills. On the insides, the Sidewalk Edition comes with leather seats with Sidewalk badging. It also gets contrast piping and accents and also an bespoke trim finish for the dashboard.
In terms of features, most of the equipment has been carried forward from the standard Mini Convertible. Some of the notable features include LED lights, 6.5-inch infotainment display, auto climate control, a wind deflector, and even drive modes. Safety features on the Sidewalk Edition include front and passenger airbags, rear parking sensors. ABS, stability control, traction control and cornering brake control. Under the hood, the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition is powered by the same 2.0L turbo-petrol engine from the Cooper S Convertible. This engine produces 192bhp and 280Nm of torque and it comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The DCT gearbox is an optional extra on the standard Convertible for an additional amount of Rs 26,000 as per the company brochure. This special edition Mini can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 7.1 seconds, identical to the standard Convertible.
The standard Mini Cooper Convertible is priced in India at Rs 38.90 lakh which means this limited-edition variant commands a premium of Rs 6 lakh over the standard car. Well, the Sidewalk Edition does not really justify such a high premium for what it brings to the table but given its exclusivity of being limited to just 15 units, it has its own bragging rights. If exclusivity is important to you, this Mini does make a lot of sense.
