There could be a small hike in prices of the Swift with the launch of the new model. However, in relation to its rivals, the prices will remain competitive. As far as the engine options are concerned, the new Swift will continue with the current set – 1.2 L petrol and 1.3 L diesel. In comparison to the Ford Figo, the diesel versions of the Swift and Grand i10 fall short on power and torque. Ford also offers the Figo with a 1.5 L Petrol with a 6-speed automatic option, which makes 110 BHP. All this means the Ford Figo is the most powerful hatch in its segment.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift will be more feature rich than before. It will feature a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, reverse parking camera and more. These features have not made it to the Figo and Grand i10 yet.

Now that the upcoming next generation Swift has been unveiled officially, we know exactly what it looks like. It retains the current model’s sporty characteristics infusing it with a more modern design. The wide grille and swept back headlamps give it an aggressive face. Other interesting design bits include a floating roof and the high set rear door handle. We are big fans of the Ford Figo’s design, especially the nose. However, it misses out on certain ‘premium’ bits like LED daytime running lamps, projector headlights. In terms of age, the Grand i10 is the oldest. Hyundai will roll out the facelift soon that will feature updates to the design.
One of the key weak points of the outgoing Swift is interior space. While the Figo and Grand i10 are spacious, the Swift’s rear seat feels cramped. This is likely to change with the new model 2017 Maruti Swift. Its cabin will be more spacious and modern as well. Among the other two, the Grand i10’s cabin takes the cake in terms of quality and fit and finish.
