The engine specifications of the BS-6 compliant Honda CB Shine 125 have been leaked. The updated bike is likely to be launched by the end of 2019.
Honda has started launching its BS-6 vehicles in India and the first one is the Activa 125. Now, the engine specs of BS-6 Honda CB Shine 125 have been leaked indicating that this might be the second launch.
The leaked document shows that the BS-6 Honda CB Shine 125 produces 10.73 BHP of power at 7500 RPM. In comparison, the BS-4 model produces 10.15 BHP of power. However, there is nothing mentioned if the bike gets fuel injection.
From the document, we can also say that the BS-6 Honda Shine 125 will be bigger than the outgoing version. The wheelbase will be 1285mm making it 19mm longer. The length will be increased by 8mm to 2020mm, width by 23mm to 785mm and height by 13mm to 1103mm.
The engine capacity will be the same 124.6cc air-cooled unit, mated to a simple 5-speed gearbox. Further, it will be available in three variants – Front/Rear Drum, Front Disc/Rear Drum and Front/Rear Drum (Dix). Dix stands for Deluxe edition.
The mentioned model in the document is the SP125, which is more premium than the regular variant. The regular Shine 125 comes with a 4-speed gearbox and different set of colour options as well.
For suspension, the bike uses telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back. Braking is handled by front and rear drum brakes as standard with a front disc brake as an option. Combi-Braking System (CBS) comes in as standard fitment.
With all these, the prices are set to increase by nearly Rs 6000-7000 on each variant. As of now, the prices start off at Rs 63,857 going up to Rs 69,497 (ex-showroom) for the Shine SP.
